Jackson Walker LLP Selects IntApp Time Builder to Boost Firm Revenue and Improve Attorney Time Recording

Time Builder software creates an automatic "daily diary" of attorney activity to help ensure that all billable activity is recorded

April 2009

PALO ALTO, Calif.--April 20, 2009--IntApp, Inc., the leading provider of time capture, risk management and integration software for the legal industry, today announced that Jackson Walker LLP, a Texas-based law firm with over 300 attorneys, has selected IntApp's Time Builder product to improve attorney time capture effectiveness, boost firm revenue and improve client billing practices.

"We chose Time Builder to help drive firm revenue and profitability because it provides a proven means to improve our time capture and client billing practices, without creating additional overhead for our attorneys." said Richard Herlan, Chief Financial Officer, Jackson Walker LLP. "Time Builder has been successfully adopted by several of our peers and IntApp has distinguished itself as the vendor with the experience, skills and resources to meet our time capture needs and drive a significant return on our investment."

Time Builder enables law firms to increase revenue by capturing billable time that is missed or under-billed. It does this by providing attorneys with an accurate, consolidated journal of client/matter-related activity, generated by automatically monitoring the key applications they use throughout the day. Tracked systems include document creation, email, calendar, phone, and mobile devices.

Attorney activity journals are cross-referenced against client matter information and provided in a "daily timesheet" format available as an automated email or paper printout. Journals are also accessible by attorneys, or their secretaries, through a web-based interface which allows activities to be grouped, detailed and submitted to common time entry applications, including those provided by vendors such as Thomson Elite, ADERANT, Advanced Productivity Software, PensEra Knowledge Technologies and Sage Software.

This approach allows attorneys to more easily record and enter time, often finding lost or overlooked work. Additionally, by simplifying time tracking, Time Builder increases attorney satisfaction while accelerating internal pre-bill review and external client collections.

"Our IT organization strives to employ technology in ways that have a material impact on the performance of the firm, and Time Builder clearly fits the bill," said Mark BeMent, Chief Information Officer, Jackson Walker LLP. "Time Builder's ability to provide attorneys with a comprehensive view of their daily activity, combined with its direct integration with our ADERANT time entry system, make it a tool that's easy to learn, easy to use and easy to get significant value from."

"Today, more than ever, it's vitally important that law firms accurately track, record and invoice all billable attorney activity," said Eldean Ward, head of IntApp's Revenue Practice Group. "We're pleased to support Jackson Walker's efforts to meet its financial performance objectives by making it easier for its attorneys to capture all billable work, so they can focus less on overhead activities and more on delivering value to their clients."
