Time Builder software creates an automatic "daily diary" of lawyer activity to help ensure that all billable work is recorded
PALO ALTO, Calif.--September 1, 2009--IntApp, Inc., the leading provider of time capture, risk management and integration software for the legal industry, today announced that Clarke Willmott LLP, a UK-based law firm with 300 fee earners, has selected IntApp Time Builder to increase lawyer time entry effectiveness, boost firm revenue and improve client billing practices.
"The firm's board chartered a strategic effort to revise internal time recording policies and procedures in order to enhance firm financial performance and improve client billing practices," said Greg Lovett, Partner, Clarke Willmott LLP. "Time Builder enables us to achieve our objectives and realise significant business benefits, without creating additional burdens for fee earners."
Time Builder is software that enables law firms to increase revenue by capturing billable time that is missed or under-billed. It does this by providing lawyers with an accurate, consolidated journal of client/matter-related activity, generated by automatically monitoring the key applications they use throughout the day. Tracked systems include document creation, email, calendar, phone, and mobile devices.
Lawyer activity journals are cross-referenced against client matter information and provided in a "daily timesheet" format available as an automated email or paper printout. Journals are also accessible by lawyers, or their secretaries, through a web-based interface which allows activities to be grouped, detailed and submitted to common time entry applications, including those provided by vendors such as Thomson Elite, ADERANT, Advanced Productivity Software, PensEra Knowledge Technologies and Sage Software.
This approach allows lawyers to more easily record and enter time, often finding lost or overlooked work. Additionally, by simplifying time tracking, Time Builder increases lawyer satisfaction while accelerating internal pre-bill review and external client collections.
"Our IT organisation is focused on delivering technology solutions that directly benefit the firm and its clients," said Iain Hepburn, IT Director, Clarke Willmott LLP. "Time Builder's daily automatic diaries will enable our fee earners to capture and enter more complete records of billable activity with less overhead and inconvenience."
"We're pleased to add Clarke Willmott to our growing roster of international clients," said Jon Roscow, General Manager, EMEA, IntApp. "We look forward to supporting their efforts to enhance the firm's performance by enabling fee earners to automatically capture all billable activity, so they can focus less on overhead and more on delivering value to their clients."
