Allison Martin Rhodes is Sheppard Mullin’s Deputy General Counsel and is based in the firm’s San Francisco office. She specializes in legal ethics and risk management. Rhodes serves as counselor to the firm’s lawyers on an array of matters, including client and matter intake, engagement and disengagement issues, policy development and enforcement, conflicts of interest, internal investigations, the firm’s contracts with vendors and consultants, the firm’s partnership agreement, subpoena compliance, lateral partner intake and integration, insurance renewals, and the defense and coordination of claims and arbitrations.
Rhodes has been a longtime member of the Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers (APRL) and served as the organization’s president from 2018 to 2019. She is a member of the ABA Center for Professional Responsibility and serves on the center’s diversity committee. She is also the co-author with Professor Robert Hillman on the industry-leading treatise, Hillman on Lawyer Mobility: The Law and Ethics of Partner Withdrawals and Law Firm Breakups.
