2025 Tech Perceptions Survey Report

Our annual Tech Perceptions Survey provides insight into fee-earner technology usage and needs. This year’s results reveal a surge in AI usage — with many professionals saying their firms are very successful at using AI to achieve benefits including lower costs, enhanced creativity, and better client experiences.

Key findings include:

• AI usage has grown substantially, with 72% of professionals using AI at work versus 48% in 2024.
• 50% of professionals are exposing their firms to increased information security risks by using unauthorized AI tools.
• Time saved using AI is being reallocated to higher-level client work (42%) and strategic planning (33%).
• 82% of respondents say the quality of AI-generated work is at least as good as their own.
• 90% of professionals at tech-forward firms are highly satisfied with their companies, versus 65% of professionals at firms that aren’t tech-forward.
• Access to AI tools will influence where Gen Z (57%) and millennial (52%) respondents choose to work.
