Partner and Senior Critic in Graphic Design

Michael Bierut is a partner in the New York office of the international design consultancy Pentagram, where his work includes brand identity, book design, packaging, and environmental graphics. His clients at Pentagram have included The New York Times, Saks Fifth Avenue, The Robin Hood Foundation, MIT Media Lab, Mastercard, Slack, the New York Jets, the Brooklyn Academy of Music, and Verizon. As a volunteer to Hillary Clinton’s communications team, Bierut designed the H logo that was ubiquitous throughout her 2016 presidential campaign.

Bierut has been a senior critic in graphic design at the Yale School of Art and a lecturer in the practice of design and management at the Yale School of Management. A book on his work —  How to Use Graphic Design to Sell Things, Explain Things, Make Things Look Better, Make People Laugh, Make People Cry, and (Every Once in a While) Change the World — was published in 2015 by Harper Collins. Caitlin “Cat” Moon teaches the Program on Law and Innovation (PoLI) at Vanderbilt Law School, where she also serves as the Director of Innovation Design and directs the PoLI Institute, Vanderbilt’s innovation-focused executive education platform. In addition to co-organizing Music City (Nashville) Legal Hackers, Moon co-founded the Summit on Law and Innovation (SoLI), which brings together experts across legal, technology, and other disciplines in collaborative legal innovation projects.

Moon currently teaches Legal Problem Solving, a course in human-centered design for law, as well as Law as a BusinessBlockchain and Smart ContractsLegal Operations, and Leading in Law. Jacob Parks is the COO of Profitable Ideas Exchange (PIE), and has led growth and operations in the company for 17 years. Parks headed the research team on How Clients Buy, interviewing more than 100 rainmakers at expert services companies, including consultants at Accenture, McKinsey, Baker Tilly, Deloitte, Goldman Sachs, and KPMG.

Parks moderates a peer group of middle-market consulting firm CMOs, including CLJ, AT Kearney, Segal, and Simpson Thatcher. Additionally, he has facilitated executive roundtable discussions on behalf of CFOs and COOs representing the largest companies across the globe.

Parks has taught as an adjunct professor of business at the Jake Jabs School of Entrepreneurship at Montana State University where he did his undergraduate work. He is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration degree at Gonzaga School of Business. Parks has published research in academic journals on the topic of driving successful innovation in large corporations.

Jennifer Leonard is Penn Carey Law’s Chief Innovation Officer and Executive Director of the Future of the Profession Initiative (FPI). She advances the law school’s cutting-edge educational and thought leadership efforts by developing projects that educate law students and alumni about the skills and knowledge lawyers need to thrive in a rapidly shifting professional landscape.

FPI additionally identifies opportunities to engage Penn Carey Law students and creative thinkers from across disciplines in designing solutions that make broader legal systems accessible to clients and civil litigants. Leonard teaches Innovation in Practice: Design Thinking for Legal Professionals.

Before assuming her current role, Leonard served as Associate Dean for Professional Engagement and Director of the Center on Professionalism at Penn Carey Law. She previously served as Chief of Staff to the City Solicitor of Philadelphia, as well as a litigation associate with a Center City Philadelphia law firm and as a judicial law clerk.

Leonard graduated from Penn Carey Law in 2004 and from Penn State University, with high honors, in 2000.

She was a Partner at Regis McKenna Inc. a marketing and strategy consulting firm and has consulted to global industry leaders such as Cisco, Xerox, IBM as well as a wide variety of very successful early stage technology companies. Pam has also held positions as the most senior marketing officer within several companies seeing them through periods of high growth and acquisition. She most recently created the initial marketing plan for Looker that was acquired by Google for $2.7B. She also led the category creation and public filing efforts for Anaplan’s successful IPO. She is currently on the advisory board of several early stage technology companies.

She most recently created the initial marketing plan for Looker that was acquired by Google for $2.7B. She also led the category creation and public filing efforts for Anaplan’s successful IPO. She is currently on the advisory board of several early stage technology companies.

Todd Miller is a practice group leader for the partner practice at Intapp. Prior to joining Intapp, Todd was CEO and founder of gwabbit, acquired by Intapp in 2019. Todd was also the CEO and founder of WebFeat, acquired by ProQuest in 2008. Todd was the CEO of Knight Ridder Information’s KR SourceOne subsidiary, where he won an award from the Gartner Group for a digital document management system he designed and developed jointly with IBM. Todd also led the business unit responsible for the successful launch of Ziff Davis/IAC’s InfoTrac content delivery system.

In addition to Gartner Group, Todd has won awards from the IDG/DEMO conference, CES, and others. He’s been featured in IBM’s “Success Stories” nationwide ad campaign and speaking tour He holds four patents in the field of search technology and has published dozens of articles and four books, including two on virtual officing.
