Specialist insurance law firm in Australia rolls out Intapp time recording software for total time management
Sydney, Australia, 12 September 2016 – Intapp, a global leader in legal software, today announced that Gilchrist Connell, a specialist insurance law firm in Australia, has implemented Intapp Time as its time management system across five offices in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. Gilchrist Connell selected Intapp for its flexibility in enabling lawyers to record time when, where and how they choose, via their desktop, laptop or mobile devices. The firm has 70 lawyers and was recently awarded Insurance Team of the Year at the 2016 Australian Law Awards.
“Whether our lawyers are working in the office or remotely, online or offline, Intapp Time makes it easy for users to track activity in a way that works for them,” said Kirk Rogers, IT Director, Gilchrist Connell. “Since deploying Intapp Time, we’ve seen a major improvement in how quickly fee earners are entering and releasing time, providing both our firm and our clients with a more accurate picture of work in progress, and enabling more timely billing.”
“Intapp Time is the best time recording system we’ve used,” said Richard Wood, Managing Principal, Gilchrist Connell. “The mobile functionality is excellent and has helped us to capture a more accurate record of time and easily group and categorise activities by client and matter. Intapp Time is fast, efficient and intuitive, and we’ve been pleased with the evaluation, training and rollout process. We have seen our utilisation and productivity figures pick up considerably since we implemented Intapp.”
Intapp Time enables users to create time entries, using timers if they choose, and synchronises their data in real time across all their devices. The intelligent time capture features of Intapp Time provide users with a journal of captured activities, generated by monitoring key applications they use throughout the day, ranging from their document management system (DMS) to email, phone and digital dictation. Intapp Time assigns durations and client activity codes automatically, so that users can simply drag and drop the activity to create a complete, accurate time entry. The system also enables compliance with client billing guidelines, providing fee earners with instant feedback at the point of entry if there are errors.
The reporting features of Intapp Time also enable the firm to analyse data related to time recording, budget and staffing. At Gilchrist Connell, the business operations team has actively monitored user adoption of Intapp Time, enabling the team to quickly identify and address issues as they arise.
“The Intapp services team brought a very structured approach to implementing Intapp Time, helping us to prioritise and address further configuration changes after going live. We particularly appreciated their expertise in integrating Intapp Time with our practice management system. The rollout was completed on time and on budget, and I’m very pleased with the feedback from fee earners,” added Kirk Rogers.
