Tony Szczepaniak is the CEO of LEA Global, where he leads the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of the international accounting association. As CEO, Szczepaniak leverages his experiences as a strategic thinker, business leader, and change agent to work with LEA Global members to strengthen relationships, accelerate best practice sharing, and expand technical expertise and industry knowledge in accounting, audit, tax, and business advisory.
Szczepaniak most recently led the Moore North America accounting and consulting firm association. His career also includes 15 years of working and leading Fortune 500 corporate tax teams and 15 years in public accounting, including as a tax partner serving primarily middle market clients. Szczepaniak, who has held several executive committee and resource panel roles for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Elmhurst College, a master’s degree in taxation from DePaul University, and certifications from the University of Chicago, Harvard University, and Stanford University.

Gary Pinkus is a senior partner of McKinsey & Company Inc. and serves as chairman of North America. He was previously the managing partner for the firm in North America, and before that led McKinsey’s office for the Western United States. Pinkus is also the former Global Leader of McKinsey’s Private Equity & Principal Investors Practice, which he helped co-found more than two decades ago. He has been a long-time member of McKinsey’s Shareholders Council (the firm’s global governance board), including historically chairing the Finance and Infrastructure Committee and the Risk, Audit, and Governance Committee. His client work spans multiple industries with a particular focus on private equity and principal investors.
Pinkus joined McKinsey in Los Angeles in 1987 as a business analyst and came to the firm’s San Francisco office in 1992. Over the course of his career, he has worked for Dole Food Company in Honduras, Bear Stearns’ mergers and acquisitions group in New York, and in McKinsey’s Houston, Mexico City, Sydney, and Zurich offices.
Pinkus currently serves on the boards of Wake Forest University and U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association. He is a prior member of the boards of the San Francisco Opera, California Academy of Sciences, Menlo School, California Business Roundtable, Silicon Valley Leadership Group, ReSurge International (formerly Interplast), and the investment committee for Woodside School Foundation. He earned a bachelor’s degree in English and quantitative economics from Stanford University and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School, both with distinction. He and his wife, Mary, celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary in 2019 and have four children and three dogs.

Richard “Rick” David is a senior financial and operations executive with more than 40 years of experience in the accounting profession, including a Big Four Firm and in the management of a large national firm. He has also served as the chairman of one of the largest international accounting networks with operations in more than 100 countries. David was appointed by two governors to serve as a regulator for the CPA profession, and is a current member of AICPA Council. David has a demonstrated track record of successfully handling merger, acquisition, and divestitures for his firm and for his clients, participating in a number of transactions of all sizes and complexity. He has successfully built corporate and client service teams, negotiated critical contracts, and undertook meaningful financial restructuring activities. He has also developed and implemented a wide range of innovative business practices in areas such as long term compensation, training, equity funding plans, risk management, and cost controls.

Pam Smith has been in marketing strategy and business advisory roles within the technology industry for over 25 years. She was a Partner at Regis McKenna Inc. a marketing and strategy consulting firm and has consulted to global industry leaders such as Cisco, Xerox, IBM as well as a wide variety of very successful early stage technology companies. Pam has also held positions as the most senior marketing officer within several companies seeing them through periods of high growth and acquisition. She most recently created the initial marketing plan for Looker that was acquired by Google for $2.7B. She also led the category creation and public filing efforts for Anaplan’s successful IPO. She is currently on the advisory board of several early stage technology companies.
